Facebook to go public?

They said...

The popular social media networking website, Facebook, is going to be going public very soon. It is said that Facebook will be offering 10 percent of the company's shares to the public. Facebook's IPO (Initial public offering) may be one of the biggest IPOs ever, possibly beating the amount that Google traded their shares during 2004.

Considering the fact that almost every household with access to the internet has a facebook account in their possession, the value of Facebook is presumably high.
Some even predict that it'll be sold at 100 billion dollars..... incredible...really..

Why would Facebook be worth that much??
Well, the fact is Facebook has been growing at an incredible rate since the birth of the organization. Not only does Facebook allow users to share pictures, comments, and information about one another. It is slowly becoming a tool for employers to use in making the decision of hiring an individual.

Facebook offers users the ability to create their own content such as the popular applications that users can access. And as many will know, the world of application/computer softwares are a growing market with vast opportunities for users to gain growing profits.

Facebook is also a popular means by which an organization goes about advertising their products/services to the consumers and in some cases Facebook becomes the means of an individual's business. This indicates the high degree of income that Facebook recognizes by posting an advertisement on their website.

Considering all of these factors, I guess this means that we all need to save up and join the crowd, when Facebook's IPO is on the market!

Blue eyed Chinese boy found

They said...
A Chinese boy (Nong Youshi) is found with blue eyes, as seen within the picture. This is a very rare occurence, since both of his parents are both Chinese. Thus, it is usually natural for the boy to have brown/black eyes.

Not only does the boy have blue eyes but it has been discovered that he has eyes that are similar to those of a cat. The boy surprised many doctors/researchers with his ability to see in the dark. Medical tests shows that the boy is able to read in complete darkness and is able to read as many people can during daytime.

This mutation is facinating to many readers including myself and brings forth the question of whether if we (humans) can acquire other abilities through mutation as is the case of Nong Youshi.

Another remarkable quarter for Apple

They said...
Apple (the creator of iPad, iPhone, iPods, Macs) have shown exceptional Q1 2012 results. Apple made a record revenue of $46.33 billion and net profit of $13.06 billion.

Though many predicted that Apple's sales would've decreased with the increased popularity of the Android platform, many of those predictions were proven false with this result. Even just today, Apple's stocks went up $25, which is a 6% increase of their overall share price.

With the release of Apple's electronic textbooks (iBooks 2), which is rumoured to price textbooks under $15 (great save for those university students). The application is also supposed to enable users to be able to create their own textbooks and release it on the market, which is a similar concept to the application market. It seems like Apple is always coming up with new innovative ideas that bring life into a new market.

Especially with the rumoured iPhone 5 coming out sometime this June or fall of 2012, it seems as though no one will be able to stop this tech giant from increasing their profits.
