Samsung Galaxy S3 possibly launch in May

They said...

The successor to the Samsung Galaxy series, Samsung Galaxy S3 is presumed to be released as early as May of 2012.

Rumours have it that the device is supposed to be 7 mm thin, slimmer than the Galaxy S2 (8.49mm).

The rumoured specs are: quad core processor, Android OS 4.0 (Icecream sandwich), 8MP camera, 2MP front facing camera, and a Super AMOLED Plus (HD) display.

It has been speculated that Samsung has already made this device. However, the only reason why they are prolonging their launch is due to the upcoming iPhone 5, which is presumed to be launching around June of 2012. Samsung wants to see what kind of specs that iPhone 5 will have and possibly beat the competition in terms of the speed and other hardware specifics. Samsung also reports strong sales with their current Galaxy S/S2 devices and believes it isn't necessary for the company to release a new model, when the current model reports good sales.

It seems like this summer is going to be an interesting one with the release of two of the most loved smartphones out in the market (iPhone and Galaxy). Personally for me, I'll be anticipating this summer due to the end of my cellphone contract. We'll see which is the better phone this year.
